Palestinian Human Rights Organizations Council

The Council of Palestinian Human Rights Organizations is a coalition of human rights organizations that are active in the occupied Palestinian territory.  The Council was established in 2006 to enable Palestinian human rights NGOs to act collectively to serve a common goal; promoting the role of law in the occupied Palestinian territory.  Membership of the Council is open to any Palestinian human rights organization that meets the conditions set by its Bylaw.  The Council addresses human rights violations committed by Israeli occupying forces and any Palestinian official or unofficial party through issuing press releases and position papers and conducting joint advocacy activities.  The Council relies on International humanitarian and human rights law in its analyses and positions.
